Muslim man strangles daughter to death in Canada
Her msn screen name supposedly was this:

Mohammed’s daughter wanted to wear normal clothes, but apparently he thought he should murder her for that. Oh and her 26 year old brother is also being charged with obstruction of justice so he apparently thought death by strangulation was an appropriate punishment for not wanting to wear a hijab.

“MISSISSAUGA — School friends of Aqsa Parvez say they knew that one day they’d be told the 16-year-old would be fighting for her life.
Because of a clash of cultures, a conflict between Muslim tradition and Western lifestyle, they learned yesterday that Aqsa was in grave condition in hospital after allegedly being choked by her father.
A man telephoned Peel Regional Police at 7:55 a.m. yesterday claiming he had killed his daughter….”
From Aqsa’s schoolmate:
“She was the girl with the smile and was talking to everyone.
You would most likely see her in the main hallway waving her hand and yelliin, “Heyyyyy!” to the people she knew. When her parents gave her the opportunity to not have to wear her hi-jab, she took full advantage of it
[as anyone who attends Applewood could obviously see]“

I am terribly sorry to hear this, although I did not know Aqsa, I just though that I would post on here anyways, as no one deserves to be Killed by there own father. I hope that the Family and Friends of Aqsa will hold dear in there hearts the memory of whats seems to be a wonderful girl who just wanted to express her self.

I’m doing research paper on honor killings using Aqsa’s murder as just one an example of honor killings close to home. As an awareness to western cultures. I do not in any agree with honor killings. I would just like to point out that honor killings are not in any way affiliated religion. Honor Killings occur because of subjection of women and currently the misinterpretation of the Qur’an. I personally have read the Qur’an for research in my paper. The Qur’an promotes gender equality and condones honor killings. It is the religion of peace. Honor Killings are a cultural tradition that date back to pre-Islam. I do not agree with honor killings. I’m just pointing out that it is not the religion, it is the culture. This does not matter but I am a Christan supporting belief in Islamic/Muslim religions. So, before bad-mouth the religion do some research, or read the book Burned Alive: A Victim of the Law of Men by Souad, it is her life story. Souad is a survivor of an attempted honor killing. If you truly care about this issue and care to know more, read that book.

Yes, Cassandra, keep telling yourself that. Also, do the world a favor and tell the Muslims who are killing in the NAME OF ALLAH / Islam / etc that they should stop doing so. MUSLIMS are the ones who need to hear it. Yes, you are writing a little research paper, should I clap for you? How about you trot yourself over to a Muslim country and enlighten them, let THEM know that they are misinterpreting their own religion and holy book. Then get back to me. And Cassandra, I never did bad-mouth a religion.
You say you’re a Christian but you can’t even spell Christian correctly, but you take extra care with the “Qur’an.” Also, please locate for me this line between religion and culture.

halima, you are so defensive that you imagine things. Read my post again, when did I say Islam was the reason anyone was murdered? You must subconsciously believe that Islam was the reason behind the murder, because I never stated that. Also, you say that Islam means peace. How heartwarming. Could you please tell that to the Muslims who engage in violence in the name of Islam? They must be confused, because as you say, “Islam means peace.” http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/
fubarmedia - October 9, 2008 at 3:02 am
Fubermedia get a life please, you obviously know nothing about islam .. islam does mean peace and if you werent so ignorant you would know!
Stop hating on islam. just because there are somemuslims out there that do violent things it doesnt change the meaning of islam and im sure there are people from other religions who also do evil things why dont YOU go tell those people about their religions!
islamprincess - November 9, 2008 at 8:58 pm
“islamprincess” : I never said that Islam DIDN’T mean peace. READ MY POST AND MY COMMENTS. I am telling people that if they think Islam means peace, they should alert the muslims who DO violent things IN THE NAME OF ISLAM / Allah / etc that perhaps they should stop being violent in the name of islam. THE MUSLIMS WHO DO VIOLENT THINGS IN THE NAME OF ISLAM are the ones who are giving Islam, which, like you just said “means peace” a bad name. Do you understand?
I am trying to help clear this “misconception” up. People apparently misunderstand islam. They think it is a violent ideology. The reason they think this is because practitioners of the religion tend to blow things up in the name of Allah. If the general public is to believe islam=peace, then by all means muslims should begin by behaving peacefully. By all means the muslims who ARE being peaceful should take measures to pacify their violent brothers and sisters.
Maybe you can start the movement, “islamprincess.”
fubarmedia - November 9, 2008 at 9:09 pm
Don’t be such an ignoramus, “islamprincess.” Why are you such a defender of brutal violence? This is a post about a father killing his daughter, and you not once mention condolences. If you are so peaceful, then why don’t you express some sorrow at the violent death of Aqsa Parvez at the hands of her father.
That’s what this post is about, by the way.
Instead you falsely accuse me of saying islam doesn’t mean peace. Never said that, now did I?
